450-Final Project
Game description: We plan to build a side-scrolling platformer game. You can use a d/left right to move and use space to jump. When there are ladders, you can use w to climb the ladder. The player can use the left shift to dash. Also, the player can press ESC to find the whole menu and choose the level they wanna play. Press E to teleport to the next box. Press Q to start a conversation with the frog.
In this game, you will restart at your current level only if you have coins(points), or you will start at the first level again.

Week 11's update:
allow using left shift to dash
camera issue fixed
add saws
Week 10's update:
coin
animation
pause button
Week 9's update:
For this week's plan, we've done a couple of things to optimize the players' experiences:
1. add a camera so that the map can be extended and the character will have more space to move.
2. optimize the motion to reduce the game lagging
3. extend the map and add coin
Week 8's update:
For this week's plan, here is what we did:
1. add BGM
2. add a teleporter, in level 2 when you are standing on the case and press "E" you should be able to transfer to the other teleporter
3. add the menu, hit "ESC" to find the menu
Week 6's update (prototype):
For this week's progress, we added three main parts to the prototype. 1. We make the game into an actual loop so that if the player dies, the game allows the player to reload the game and restart. 2. We added an obstacle, which is the water and the blocks, when the player touches the water he/she will die. 3. We added a flag as the "goal" in this level so that the player can reach to next level.
For next week's plan, we plan to:
1. design and make the level next, which includes some new obstacles like monsters or portals, to make the game fun.
2. we plan to create a coin collection mechanism so that the player can collect coins to gain more scores.
3. we plan to create an actual "goal" for the whole game.
Week 5's progress:
We added the basic game map, added ladder, and character animation. For next week, we plan to fix some animation issues, add the reward (it will be an exit to the next map), and add some obstacles like spikes or monsters. Due to the unfamiliarity with the project and collaboration our draft looks a little bit "childish", but we believe the next weeks' progress will be more productive as we have already clarified what we have so far and what we are making for the project.
